There is a stellium of 6 planets transiting through sidereal Sagittarius in January 2020. In zodical order on January 1st they are Mercury, Jupiter, Sun, Ketu, Saturn and Pluto. Ketu made its exact conjunctions with Saturn and Pluto in the spring of 2019. The Sun made its exact conjunction with Jupiter and Ketu in December of 2019. Jupiter will conjoin with Pluto and Saturn later in the year. The rest of the conjunctions all occur in within the first half of January 2020. Couple this with a lunar eclipse and Uranus stationing direct in this time span and we have some very intense energy to start off the year.
Mercury conjoins all five other planets this month. In addition to Mercury, the Sun conjoins Pluto and Saturn bringing the count to seven. Jupiter conjoins Ketu for eight and Saturn conjoins Pluto for nine.

The three conjunctions involving Mercury, Jupiter and Ketu come during the first week of January. These can have a spiritualizing effect because of the nature of Jupiter and Ketu, and they can relate to learning due to the nature of Mercury and Jupiter. Thus the first week of January is good for learning and for looking for a guru or teacher or sharing your knowledge with others. It is good for chanting mantras for spiritual growth. It is good for reading spiritual books combined with contemplation and meditation upon what you have read. It is good for anything that expands your intellectual or spiritual knowledge. It can also be a time to stop and think if a correspondence or communication your receive is the truth or shrouded in illusion or hidden agendas. These conjunctions occur in Mula and Purva Ashada Nakshatras. Mercury-Jupiter in Mula Nakshatra it may involve destroying the root of false beliefs or negative self-talk. Mercury-Keu and Jupiter-Ketu conjunctions occur in Purva Ashada and purifying the body of a bad habit and stilling the chattering mind in meditation can lead to feeling physically revitalized and invigorated by spiritual insights.
The January 10th Mercury-Sun superior conjunction (Mercury direct on the opposite side of the sun from Earth) in Purva Ashada is a way to integrate what you learned into your soul, your core being, your essence. This is excellent for receiving purifying insight into your dharma that gives you a surge or revitalized energy going forward on your path. This conjunction occurs on January 10th, the same day as the Lunar Eclipse in Punarvasu, a nakshatra of renewal, and the same day Uranus, a planet of awakening, stations direct. Who knows what insights can be revealed if we clear our mindspace and tune it to receive?
January 12th and 13th are likely to be the most intense days this month as Mercury and the Sun conjoin Saturn and Pluto. Saturn and Pluto are malefic planets. Mercury tends to take on the nature of those it is with. The Sun will combust the planets it conjoins. This is a day to avoid harsh or mean words or actions. With these conjunctions occuring in Uttara Ashada, we may see events in the news on these days where this power is used by groups of people to attain victory for their cause or agenda. All four of these planets are vargottoma at the time of their conjunction which is auspicious. Vargottoma means these planets are also in the navamsa of Sagittarius. It is important to use this energy in a positive way to better your life in a way that does no harm to yourself or others and by liberating from karmic patterns you no longer want to continue or repeat.
January 12th Mercury conjoins Saturn and Pluto. This is an auspiscious day is best to focus on transforming the structures or responsibilities in your life to align with the right work or commitment to a goal and focusing on right communications that build or deepen positive alliances that bring you strength, support and success in your life. Especially in the areas of your life ruled by Mercury (houses of Gemini and Virgo) and Saturn (houses of Capricorn and Aquarius).
January 13th the Sun conjoins Saturn and Pluto and is quite powerful for aligning those transformations and commitments with your dharma. If you are not on your dharmic path, you can run into issues with power or with limitations and lack. It is key to assume your power not wield it or give it away, and do not claim it from the seat of the ego (the false self), claim it from the seat of the soul, your true spiritual beingness at your center. This can be a very auspicious day for creating the right alliances that will eventually bring success on your dharmic path, and the support you need to kick bad habits or negative karmic patterns.
